This aviation video features McDonnell Douglas MD-11 (MD11) aeroplanes of Dutch airline Martinair Cargo. Filmed in 4K Ultra HD, this video includes the last ever Martinair MD-11 landing and departing London Stansted Airport. Martinair airlines is based in the Netherlands and was formed in 1958. Having flown both passenger and cargo flights. After 58 years transporting passengers and following a buyout by KLM, Martinair ceased flying passengers in October 2011. By March 2015 Air-France KLM announced they were reducing Cargo operations and that all Martinair MD-11 aircraft would be taken out of service and not be replaced. This video is therefore a tribute to this great and powerful McDonnell Douglas aircraft and to Martinair that flew the MD-11 to London Stansted for many years. So, after receiving their first MD-11 in 1994, their last, PH-MCP, flew out of London Stansted on 27 June 2016 for it's short flight back to Amsterdam Schiphol for retirement. I hope you enjoy watching both the final landing and departure of PH-MCP as well as some other scenes of Martinair MD-11's that I have filmed recently. I look forward to your comments and thank you for watching.
Filmed when so called "storm Imogen" hit the UK on 9th February 2016, London Stansted Airport was affected by gusts of wind up to 41Knots. This video captures some of the great piloting skills as aircraft big and small arrive at the airport in difficult conditions.
Presented in 4K (although some source footage was only in HD) this video features a short title sequence leading into footage of aircraft captured at London Stansted Airport on 31st December 2015. A first for me, was the capture of 2 BAe ATP turboprops arriving in the shape of West Atlantic SE-MAM and G-MANO. I have also included ATR's of Aurigny G-COBO, and Stobart/ Flybe EI-REM. Embraer 135 of bmi regional, G-RJXJ and Embraer E190 of Air Moldova ER-ECC. The big jet is in the shape of Boeing 747-400F of Cargolux, LX-TCV. Upon departure of the 747, the music comes back in as I try to celebrate a number of different shots captured from 2015 including departing Newquay, at Dublin, London City, Stansted and Southend Airports. The whole video finishes with an accelerated departure from London Heathrow and views over London. This final piece of the video was a tough edit, taking over a day to pull together! As always, I really hope you enjoy the video. My very sincere thanks for following my aviation videos, for your comments, shares, tweets and likes throughout 2015. My best wishes to all of my followers and casual viewers for a happy and healthy 2016. Thank you.
On June 20 2015 London Stansted Airport welcomed the first scheduled cargo flights from China with China Southern Airlines. The carrier is operating Boeing 777's twice per week from this date. Also in this video is A7-AAM a BD700 of Qatar and a short takeoff Titan Airways Boeing 767-300, G-POWD, operating for British Airways; a few more aircraft are in the titles
Filmed at London Stansted Airport, this video includes my first shots of Flybe's Dash 8 Q400's operating on their new routes from the airport. I was fortunate to get both G-ECOO in the classic white livery and G-FLBQ in the new purple livery. Also in this video are Air Explore Boeing 737-800 and Smartlynx Airbus A320 both operating for Ryanair. There's an Air X Charter Boeing 737-500 plus a 737-800 with split scimitar winglets for Thomson. Finally Thomas Cook Airbus A321 in the new livery. As always I hope you enjoy the variety, I always enjoy the comments, thank you for watching, supporting and sharing my videos.
