The next-generation A400M continues its certification program. All five of the programme's flight test aircrafts took to the sky this week for a nice formation flight performed together by the Airbus Flight Test Teams. The exercise started from Toulouse, France. Once completed, each aircraft returned to its individual testing base which include evaluations for handling qualities.

Air mobility is vital in achieving the objective of getting people, equipment and supplies to any trouble spot rapidly and efficiently. Aircraft types currently fulfilling the military tactical transport role in the worlds air forces are becoming obsolete either because of old age or because of difficult supportability. Unable to carry much of todays heavy military equipment, they do not meet the needs of modern rapid reaction forces.
