ATI Airlines DC-8, Silkway 767 & Flying In 2012 Compilation waving pilots and more!
This is my attempt to celebrate what was a very good year for me in terms of the sights and sounds of aviation. I've been very lucky to capture some interesting aircraft as a result of the Olympic games arrivals at London Stansted, I've seen 3 liveries on the new Boeing 747-8F, along with many logojets. This video encompasses both my favourite shots and some new ones, and includes as many aircraft and locations as I could. Filmed at London Stansted, Luton, Manchester, Dublin and Copenhagen. Boeing 747-8F Atlas Air Panalpina Airlines First Flight to London Stansted
Another first and another Boeing 747-8F at London Stansted. This aircraft is owned and operated by Atlas Air but in the Panalpina Airlines livery. The aircraft arrived 05 June 2012 at 6:13AM BST from Huntsville USA. After a very quick turnaround the aircraft departed to Belgium. Apologies for the slightly wabbly landing, this was in part due to an issue with the camera, thankfully that was resolved for the upclose takeoff. Also included is a British Airways World Cargo (Global Supply Systems) 747-8, Thomson Airways Boeing 737-800, Air Berlin Dash 8 and Germanwings A319. EasyJet Emergency Landing London Stansted - Pegasus, Thomas Cook, TNT Airport Video
Filmed on May 13 2012 this video includes something I've not witnessed at London's Stansted Airport before - an emergency landing. EasyJet Airbus A319 G-EZAM was declared as 'emergency traffic' on the radio; clearly this was a routine precaution and thankfully there was no serious incident. However look closely and you can see that the spoilers remain deployed even whilst taxiing, so perhaps this was a hydraulic problem. The aircraft was followed by STN's fire crew and rangers did a runway inspection, all done with total precision. All passengers disembarked. I hope this doesn't sensationalise the event and I am uploading for interest more than anything else. Also included here are Pegasus Boeing 737-800 TC-ASP takeoff, private 737BBJ, Thomas Cook A320 landing, TNT 737 takeoff and another Boeing 747-8 arrival this time featuring a wide shot.

Barnacle Geese Fly Over London with Christian Moullec
Microlight pilot Christian Moullec went to extraordinary lengths in order to film birds in flight from up close overflying the city of London. He hand-reared a brood of Barnacle Geese who now see him as their mother and follow him in flight. This is the backstage part of the BBC documentary. Really incredible!

Aborted Landing - FedEX Boeing 757 Go-Around London Luton Airport - 757 Awesome Power
I've never seen a FedEX Boeing 757 before, in fact I had no idea they even operated to London Luton, so I was happy to see one. I like the 757. Late afternoon of Thursday Februrary 23rd 2012. In this video I captured an aborted landing/ rejected landing/ go-around. Whatever the terminology I hope the absolute power of the 757 and engines come through in this video. It's a shorter video than I normally produce and for those of you that dislike the music, this one is au natural! - natural sounds only. Anyway, I had a great day at my unplanned, unexpected trip to Luton. I was grateful to the friendly security guys for letting me stay. I hope you enjoy the video, I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the power of this fantastic aircraft.

Stansted Airport London - Landing Taxi & Takeoff's in 2007 & 2008 - MD90, 727, 747, C130
Having gone back through some video tapes of footage I filmed a few years ago it's clear just how many changes have occurred at London Stansted. However, bear in mind that some of the shots included here, such as Hellenic Imperial, Saudi and Bahrain 727 were irregular flights. However many others such as Darwin Airline, Transavia, Blue1, AIr Italy, MaxJet, SkyEurope have either stopped flying to Stansted or stopped altogether. Although others such as Titan, EasyJet, Ryanair remain. Germanwings remains, but lacks the logojets of the past and Air Berlin is a shadow of it's former self at STN, having transferred many flights elsewhere. Some shots are a little jerky but I hope it brings back memories for you as it did me. Oh, and as a one off I've also included a US Military C130 departure and an Irish Air Corp CASA arrival. This video is uploaded in 1080 full HD... it's a test video, but includes all brand new footage including 2 Boeing 747-8's at London Stansted in the form of G-GSSF and G-GSSD along with Pegasus and Thomson Airways Boeing 737s, and ATR72-201 of Aurigny - always looking so smart in that livery - and a few others in the titles.
